Quartz glass is made by melting all kinds of pure quartz (such as crystal, quartz sand, etc.). The linear expansion coefficient is very small, 1/10~1/20 of ordinary glass, and it has good thermal shock resistance. Its heat resistance is very high, the temperature of regular use is 1100ºC~1200ºC, and the temperature of short-term use can reach 1400ºC. Quartz glass is mainly used in laboratory equipment and high-purity product refining equipment. Because of its high spectral transmission, it will not be damaged by radiation (other glass will be dark after being irradiated by radiation), so it is also an ideal glass for spacecraft, wind tunnel windows and spectrophotometer optical systems.
